John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions with his pop-folk songs and many of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado are a source of inspiration for many to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver was by far one of the most popular artists who represented Colorado. Denver became the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. He has become the personification of Colorado to the many people across the globe. You meet people in different countries, such as New Zealanders and tell them "I come from Colorado" and they immediately react by saying Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time within small Folk Music groups. The track was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential when he first heard it. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd in Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
