Aisling Bea

Aisling is a well-known Irish comedian that has been in the business for some time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. She has appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. After playing bits in a variety of Irish and British TV shows from 2009, Bea began her professional career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. By 2012 she was regularly appearing on sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011, she began appearing on numerous panel show where she is now a staple. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats team and also a part-time participant in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was the daughter of Brian as well as Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. In 2012, she was the only woman in history to win the So You think You're Funny award. The surname of Bea is in honor of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet, who took his own life when Bea turned three was an victim of self-harm. Bea was informed of his death only at 13 years old. In honor of the man she loved, Bea adopted the stage name Bea and, in the year 2017, published an article on suicides in the family she was raised by for The Guardian. Bea was raised alongside her sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary teacher, jockey trainer, and former professional racer. Their family was fascinated by racing and horses. Bea was a guide for her family's involvement at the Irish National Stud in her early teens. She knew, however, that racing wasn't what she wanted to pursue as a profession and preferred performing.
